Mama, at 7:30 this morning: “Finny, we’re about to go out the door. Socks and shoes, please.”
Me: “Justice doesn’t put on socks and shoes.”

Rickie spent the night last night, & now we are starting to build a fort. I said, gleefully, “Our fort is just beginning to be born!”

Mama wrote:
I love being Finn’s mom. This morning, still sleepily snuggling in bed, he sang “Who’s Cheatin’ Who?” with a perfect Texas drawl. I’m still cracking up. Scott Granneman, I’m assuming you had something to do with this?

Mama said that I played a lot today!
Makes Lego guys, has them fight one another, draws pictures, makes robots out of recycling bin items, packs a grocery bag of stuff he wants to bring to Marshall, sets up a tea party for us and Pengy Penguin…all while singing continually.

Finny to Daddy & Ra-Ra: “Hey, can I tell you guys something weird about Scooby Doo & Shaggy? They both like junk food & Scooby Snacks!”

Daddy overheard Finny playing with Lego guys with Rickie. Rickie was the good guys, & Finny was the bad guys. Daddy heard Finny, voicing the bad guys in his deep, “evil” voice: “We used to be part of your team. But now we’re part of [long pause, trying to think of what to say] … the other team!”

Tonight I practiced copying letters on sheets of paper, saying I was doing my homework, and then I put the paper into a folder. I’m so excited about kindergarten. It’s great!

Daddy to Mama: Finny was just so ridiculously sweet & nice & good tonight! I kinda hope he never changes.
Mama to Daddy: Yeah, he’s a real honey. I love so much about him: his emphatic sincerity, his constant singing, his funny drawings, his little baby teeth that won’t be there much longer…

Earlier today I told Ra-Ra I was sending her into a “magical vortex”.
A few moments ago I walked into the family room & asked Daddy & Ra-Ra, “Who’s game for a fight to the death?”

Guess who slept by himself last night and got a star, and also dressed himself this morning and got a star? Finny!
There are 3 things I need to start doing:
- sleep by myself all night
- dress myself in the morning
- eat vegetables
In an effort to get me to do those things, Ra-Ra made a board with 20 squares for each of those 3 things. Every time I do one, I get to put a star in a square. When I do it 5 times, I get a book. When I do it 10, I get a Lego guy. When I do it 20, I get a Lego dragon!
